Smok Coils

SMOK has been one of the world's most widely used vaping hardware brands since its founding, and its coil range reflects the breadth of devices it has produced. SMOK Replacement Coils span two distinct categories: replaceable coil heads for pod systems and for sub-ohm tanks. The vape coil covers resistances from 0.13 ohms for high-output direct-to-lung cloud production right up to 1.4 ohms for a tight, cigarette-style MTL draw.

The RPM coil platform sits at the heart of the pod range, covering the widest number of compatible devices across multiple kit generations. The Nord and LP series serve their own dedicated kit families. Sub-ohm tank coils covering the TFV, Baby V2, and V8 ranges bring multi-core mesh and quad-core configurations for high-wattage setups.

What Makes SMOK Replacement Coils Reliable

Mesh Across the Full Range

Every current SMOK Replacement Coil uses mesh construction rather than a traditional wire coil. Mesh heats e-liquid across a wider surface area, distributes heat more evenly, and reduces the chance of hot spots forming during use. The practical result is a more consistent flavour draw and a longer coil lifespan. For a compatible alternative, explore Vaporesso GTX Mesh Replacement Coils, designed to provide even heating and consistent flavour performance.

Multi-Core Configurations for Sub-Ohm Users

SMOK's tank coil range goes beyond standard single mesh. The Baby V2 A2 uses dual mesh, the Baby V2 S2 uses a quadruple configuration, and the V8 X-Baby X4 runs a four-core design for maximum heat coverage and cloud output at very low resistances. For high-wattage sub-ohm vaping, these multi-core SMOK Mesh Coils deliver powerful performance.

The RPM Platform: Broadest Pod Compatibility

The original RPM coil heads cover 0.3ohm to 1.2ohm in a single 5-pack, making them compatible with a broad set of RPM-based pod kits across several device generations. The RPM 2, RPM 3, and RPM 4 coils extend that compatibility into newer kits with updated coil head designs and resistance options suited to higher-output DTL devices.

Ceramic Options for Sweet E-Liquids

The Nord coil range includes a 1.4ohm ceramic option alongside the standard mesh variants. Ceramic coils handle high-sugar e-liquids more efficiently than mesh; the ceramic element does not gunk up at the same rate, which extends coil life significantly for vapers who prefer sweet, dessert, or candy profiles. This is a useful alternative within the SMOK Coils range for users who find mesh wears out quickly.

Resistance Range From 0.13ohm to 1.4ohm

The full SMOK Replacement Coils collection spans from the 0.13ohm V8 X-Baby quad-core for maximum sub-ohm output to the 1.4ohm Nord ceramic for a tight MTL draw. Very few coil ranges in the UK market cover this full spectrum within a single brand, making SMOK one of the most flexible options for vapers who use multiple device types.

How To Prime and Replace SMOK Coils

For pod coil heads (RPM, Nord, LP):

  1. Unscrew the old coil head from the pod body by turning anticlockwise.
  2. Apply three to four drops of e-liquid directly to the cotton wicking ports on the new coil.
  3. Screw the new coil head into the pod body and fill the pod with e-liquid.
  4. Leave the filled pod to stand for five to ten minutes before drawing.
  5. Start at a lower wattage and work up gradually over the first few puffs.

For sub-ohm tank coils (TFV, Baby V2, V8):

  1. Remove the tank base by unscrewing it, and unscrew the old coil head.
  2. Apply several drops of e-liquid directly onto the exposed cotton of the new coil.
  3. Screw the new coil into the tank base and reassemble the tank.
  4. Fill the tank with high-VG e-liquid and allow ten minutes for full saturation.
  5. Begin at 60–70% of the coil's maximum wattage rating and work up over several puffs.

Note: Please dispose of used coils responsibly through a local vape or electronics recycling point where appropriate. Do not place them in household waste.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are SMOK Coils? +

SMOK Coils are replaceable heating elements for SMOK pod kits and sub-ohm tanks, available as pod coil heads (RPM, Nord, LP) and tank coil heads (TFV, Baby V2, V8).

What are SMOK RPM Coils compatible with? +

The original RPM Coils suit the RPM 40, RPM S, Nord X, and Fetch Pro. RPM 2, 3, and 4 coil heads are specific to their respective kit generations always confirm your device model.

Can I use RPM coils in a Nord device? +

No, RPM and Nord coil heads use different thread sizes and are not interchangeable. Check your exact device model before ordering SMOK Replacement Coils.

What is the difference between RPM and RPM 2 coils? +

RPM 2 coils are a newer generation specific to the RPM 2 Kit, with a different head design, resistance options, and thread; they are not compatible with original RPM devices or vice versa.

What e-liquid should I use with SMOK Mesh Coils? +

Use 50/50 or nic salts for 0.6ohm and above; 50/50 or slightly higher VG for 0.3–0.5ohm; and high-VG shortfills at 3–6mg freebase for sub-ohm tank coils at 0.15ohm and below.

How often should I replace my SMOK Replacement Coils? +

Typically, every one to two weeks under regular daily use. A burnt taste, reduced vapour, or gurgling are the key signs that a replacement is needed.

Why does my SMOK coil taste burnt after just a few days? +

Usually caused by high-sugar e-liquid gunking the mesh, running above the rated wattage, or not priming the coil properly before first use. Always prime for five to ten minutes before drawing.

Can I take SMOK coils on a plane? +

Yes, coils contain no liquid and are permitted in hand luggage and checked baggage. Standard aviation restrictions on e-liquid and batteries still apply.

How do I avoid a dry hit with my SMOK coil? +

Prime correctly before first use, keep the pod or tank above the minimum fill line, and stay within the coil's rated wattage range. For sweet e-liquids, the Nord ceramic coil option significantly extends coil life.
